Tianeptine Sodium, also known as stablon, is a drug primarily used in the treatment of Major depressive disorder. It has also been used to treat irritable bowel syndrome and asthma. Tianeptine has antidepressant and anti-anxiety properties.

These stress-induced changes tend to lower mood; they can cause clinical depression in the genetically vulnerable. Current evidence suggests that tianeptine acts to prevent and even reverse stress-induced neural damage, promoting both neuronal survival and synaptic plasticity.
