Levetiracetam, alias levanteracetam, levitestat, levetiracetam, is a white crystalline powder chemical. Chemical name (S) -α-ethyl-2-oxo-1-pyrrolidine acetamide, molecular formula C8H14N2O2, molecular weight of 170.20900. Levetiracetam as antiepileptic drugs, clinically mainly for adults and children over the age of 4 epilepsy partial seizures plus treatment.
Function
1) Levetiracetam has been approved in the European Union as a monotherapy treatment for epilepsy in the case of partial seizures
2) Levetiracetam has potential benefits for other psychiatric and neurologic conditions such as Tourette syndrome
3) It is also sometimes used to treat neuropathic pain
Application
It is suitable for the adjunctive treatment of partial or secondary systemic seizures in adult epileptic patients.
